If bathroom decor isn’t something you’ve given much thought to, this aesthetically designed bath mat from Cold Picnic may perhaps inspire you to revamp your space with some stylish shower accessories. Co-founded by partners Phoebe Sung and Peter Buer, the New York-based home goods company is loved for its multicolored and whimsical rugs (think the brand’s famous, cheeky boob bath mats), often spotted in the Instagram feeds of homeware-loving shoppers and tasteful creatives.

After having Cold Picnic’s collection on my wish list for quite some time, I’ve recently got my hands on one of its bath mats to match my abstract wall art. For anyone looking to invest in a good quality, beautifully handmade bathroom rug, read on for my thoughts on this “Editor’s Pick.”

WHAT IS IT: Cold Picnic Sisters Bath Mat

WHY IT’S WORTH THE HYPE: Like art for the floor, Cold Picnic’s bath mat collection is inspired by everything from memories of the founders’ youth to cult classic movies the duo enjoy. Named after the Brian De Palma-directed thriller, the Sisters rug comes in a peachy, coral color that pastel lovers will appreciate. A signature of the brand, geometric shapes big and small serve as the focus of the design. The mat itself is handcrafted by a family-run factory in India. And although this item is more of a splurge at $60 USD, its amazing quality proves well worth the investment. Made of 100 percent organic cotton, the bath mat feels soft, plush and fluffy, but is sturdy enough to keep you from slipping after a shower. Most importantly, it complements the framed art prints in my bathroom and even the colors of my towels perfectly. For someone who loves it when things are color-coordinated, this rug is certainly one of the best new additions to my home.

WHERE YOU CAN FIND IT: The Sisters bathroom rug retails for $60 USD at the Cold Picnic website.
