Disney+ Increasing Subscription Prices in the U.S. for the First Time
Effective this week.
Disney‘s streaming service Disney+ has announced an increase in its subscription prices starting this Friday, March 26. The change will also affect bundles that can be purchased along with other platforms like Hulu and ESPN Plus.
This marks the first time the service is seeing a price hike ever since its launch back in November 2019. Over a span of roughly one and a half years, the platform reached 100 million subscribers with predictions to surpass its competitor Netflix in 2026.
A dollar more than the original $6.99 USD price, Disney+ will be charging its users $7.99 USD per month and $79.99 USD per year. As for the three-way bundle with Hulu and ESPN Plus, the package is increasing to $13.99 USD per month. The change follows an initial announcement that was made back in December 2020.
