New Balance Taps Public School's Dao-Yi Chow for Running Sneakers and Apparel

The duo reworks the 327 and FuelCell RC Elite silhouettes.

Following its recent collaborations with AURALEE and Casablanca, New Balance has now joined forces with Public School‘s Dao-Yi Chow for the “WE NEED LEADERS” collection featuring running shoes and apparel. The lineup includes garments for men and women, as well as the 327 and FuelCell RC Elite sneaker silhouettes.

Taking inspiration from Chow’s experience as a marathoner, the capsule celebrates the street running culture of New York City while conveying the importance of being a leader. “The idea of ‘WE NEED LEADERS’ is a reminder that it is far greater to lead than to follow. Staying active to both better yourself and your community is so important in the times we’re living in right now,” Chow shares in a press release. “Now more than ever, we need to be our best selves and leaders for our communities have to get out, show up and make our voices heard.”

The 327 sports a green and navy color theme overall, with the medial sides branded with the NB logo and “WE NEED LEADERS” lettering. The laterals sport the blown-up “N” that is contrasted with washed white detailing. Meanwhile, the FuelCell RC Elite features a white base, with mint green hues accentuating the look on the heels, toe box and outsoles.

As for the garments, jogger pants and leggings are complete with “WNL” printed at the front, referencing the title of the capsule collection. The range is rounded out with tees, tank tops, hoodies and more in “Eclipse Navy” and “Athletic Grey” shades.
