Yara Shahidi x adidas Originals Debut Collaborative Superstar and Tracksuits
Arriving as part of the duo’s two-part release.
Celebrating her Iranian and African American heritage, Yara Shahidi has linked up with adidas Originals to create her own take on the Superstar sneakers. The team-up additionally arrives with a collaborative tracksuit.
“I have always viewed clothing and footwear as incredible tools with which we navigate the world in our own particular way, so to be able to design my own collections with the brand has been truly special,” the 21-year-old comments in a press release. “This particular collection is not only an exploration of who I am – bringing together different aspects of my own heritage – but also an ode to a new generation of change-makers who are continually reimagining their own identities, carving out space, and refusing to be silenced in the process.”
Arriving in two installations, the collection makes its debut with a new iteration of the Superstar, which comes with a worn leather upper alongside brown and yellow suede stripes. The kicks are highlighted with metal lace jewels and a scalloped tongue. Rounding out the design is “Global Community” lettering on the footbed and the multihyphenate’s name on the sides.
As for apparel, adidas‘ classic tracksuit comprised of the Satin Track Top and Satin Track Pant is reimagined in a relaxed fit with Iranian-inspired patterns printed throughout. Meanwhile, the Varsity Track Top and Varsity Track Pant are dressed in a mustard hue contrasted with a deep green shade.
