Model Jung Hayoung on Upcycling Pre-Loved Garments for a Sustainable Lifestyle

With a rising interest in protecting our planet, more Gen-Zers are turning to sustainable practices to reduce their environmental impact. Jung Hayoung, a Korean model who has recently taken on upcycling garments as her latest hobby, sat down with HYPEBAE CN to chat about her favorite pieces and tips on repurposing pre-loved items.
Hayoung, who gained presence through the survival audition series Goganzi (aka High School Style Icon), tried upcycling for the first time with friends she met through the reality show. Since then, the creative has taken to her personal YouTube channel to share more of her creative world featuring fashion lookbooks, a look inside her life as a model and more.
In her latest conversation with HYPEBAE CN, Hayoung showcases three outfits styled with upcycled garments created by the model herself. The first look highlights an old, oversized yellow shirt that is given life by simply cutting the front hem. Following up is a pair of mustard yellow wide-legged pants that is styled with her favorite boots. Rounding out the set is a crochet sweater vest with floral details that are paired with pink trousers and the adidas Originals Nizza Mid sneakers.
