Work Out in Style With Marimekko x adidas' Activewear Collaboration

Apparel designed for cycling, running, swimming and more.

Following recent collaborations featuring names like Yara Shahidi, adidas has now added Finnish design label Marimekko to its roster. The range features everything from workout-ready activewear to statement-making apparel.

“Since Marimekko’s beginnings 70 years ago, our philosophy has been that one should be able to run in a dress and this collection brings this empowering idea to life in a whole new dimension,” Marimekko’s creative director Rebekka Bay comments in a press release. “Marimekko’s bold prints fit adidas’ innovative and boundary-pushing sports apparel perfectly – this functional yet playful collection aims to spark the joy of exploration in everyday lives.”

Created by an all-female team, the collection spans the sportswear giant’s Originals line, swimwear, cycling, running and more. The Finnish label’s bold prints take over the apparel designs in shades of pink. Standouts include the Midi Tank Dress – a versatile style emblazoned with Marimekko’s black-and-white “Laine” pattern – and the Woven Track Top, which adds to adidas’ sustainability efforts by using 100 percent recycled PES and PRIMEGREEN. The piece is paired with the Cuffed Woven Track Pant perfect for a street-ready outfit. Elsewhere, the duo has crafted a Graphic Cycling Jersey offered in a slim fit with two colorways.

Check out the collaborative designs in the gallery above. The collection will be available in Mainland China and Taiwan from June 1; Japan from June 10; Hong Kong, North America, South Korea and Thailand from June 15; and Australia and Europe from July 1. You can head to Marimekko’s website for more information.
