The film celebrates the K-pop group’s five-year anniversary.

UPDATE (December 9, 2021): Get your popcorn ready — BLACKPINK: THE MOVIE will be available to stream on Disney+. Premiering on December 15, fans can get up close and personal with Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa as they reflect on their incredible journey over the last five years. 

An intimate love letter to the K-pop singers’ fan base, or “BLINK” as it is affectionately called, the documentary shares concert rehearsal footage as well as exclusive interviews and unique art films created for each member of BLACKPINK.  

Fans will also be able to experience the excitement of the girls’ concerts as the film features 10 different live performances shot during 2018’s IN YOUR AREA and 2021’s THE SHOW tours. 

BLACKPINK: THE MOVIE is available to stream on December 15 on Disney+.


UPDATE (July 14, 2021): Global K-pop group BLACKPINK has dropped the trailer for their upcoming movie celebrating their fifth anniversary.

Giving fans a look into their careers, Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo appear in never-before-seen clips off-stage. Arriving as part of the quartet’s “4+1 PROJECT,” the film is divided into sequences such as “The Room of Memories,” “Beauty” and “Exclusive Interviews.” Fans will be able to watch unreleased footage of the musicians performing live at THE SHOW and IN YOUR AREA concerts.

BLACKPINK: THE MOVIE will play in theaters in more than 100 countries. Head to the official website to find out where and when you can watch the movie.


UPDATE (June 23, 2021): Following the initial announcement, YG Entertainment has now revealed the official release date of BLACKPINK‘s five-year anniversary film, BLACKPINK: THE MOVIE.

The movie will arrive as one of five parts of the K-pop quartet’s upcoming “4+1 PROJECT.” Not much has been revealed so far, but Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo will unveil never-before-seen moments through diverse sequences including “The Room of Memories,” “Beauty” and “Exclusive Interviews.”

Landing in more than 100 countries worldwide, BLACKPINK: THE MOVIE will be in cinemas on August 4 and 8 depending on your location. Head to the official website on June 30 to get your hands on a ticket, and watch the official trailer above.


ORIGINAL STORY (June 15, 2021): Celebrating their fifth anniversary, BLACKPINK is working on a special “4+1 PROJECT” for their fans. Now, YG Entertainment has announced that the K-pop quartet has a new movie on the way as part of the scheme.

Premiering globally, BLACKPINK: THE MOVIE is set to arrive on August 8, which is when BLACKPINK debuted back in 2016. The film will feature some of the group’s most special moments, as well as unreleased interviews and “Beauty” images focused individually on Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo. On top of that, the production will reveal re-edited footage of BLACKPINK’s THE SHOW and IN YOUR AREA concerts to deliver a virtual yet realistic show for BLINKs. CGV, one of South Korea‘s largest cinema chains, will play the movie with “Screen X” and “4DX” formats for an immersive experience.
