Camila Cabello's New Music Video "Bam Bam" Features Ed Sheeran and Lots of Dancing
The lyrics seemingly touch on her split with Shawn Mendes.
Camila Cabello has returned with a catchy collaboration. The singer released the music video for her Cumbia-infused single “Bam Bam” featuring Ed Sheeran.
It’s possible Cabello may have sought inspiration from her personal life for the song. Last year, she and Shawn Mendes announced they broke up. Meanwhile, “Bam Bam” takes a positive spin on heartbreak with lyrics as follows: “Now I’m out dancin’ with strangers/You could be casually datin’/Damn, it’s all changin’ so fast/Así es la vida, sí/Yeah, that’s just life, baby/Yeah, love came around and it knocked me down/But I’m back on my feet.”
One day prior to the music video release, Cabello took to social media to reveal she’s dropping her upcoming album, Familia, next month. In regards to her third album’s title, which translates to “family,” she told Billboard it “means community, I guess the opposite of you on your own. It’s more you with other people land sharing in that joy and success, whatever that means. Interdependence realizing how important everybody is in your life. A lot of it is inspired by my relationships: My relationships to my family, my relationship to my friends, my relationship to my partner … it’s all about connections with other people, hence, Familia.”
Familia releases on April 8. Watch the music video for “Bam Bam” featuring Ed Sheeran above.
