Lack of Color Drops New Collaboration With Model Jordan Barrett
The Australian label and model channel their creative friendship into bucket hats and beanies.
Growing up on the East Coast of Australia together, Lack of Color co-founder Tess Corvaia and model Jordan Barrett, or @iblamejordan as he’s known on Instagram, channeled their friendship into a collaboration, launching a collection of versatile headwear.
Worn by Gigi Hadid, the cult-favorite hat brand is famous for their effortlessly cool bucket hats, so it’s no surprise that the latest collection features the On the Rocks suede bucket in a buttery soft camel among seven new styles including three beanies, three suede buckets and a retro cap, each piece is inspired by Jordan and his love for vintage designs. The Australian label’s latest offering’s 2000s-esque beanies arrive in varying shades of striped reds, oranges, greens and yellows, perfect for idle chats at the skatepark, while the stylish and genderless newspaper boy cap is perfect for running errands or casual night outs.

Why did you choose to collaborate with Jordan Barrett on this collection? How did the partnership come to be?
Jordan and Tess (LOC co-founder) have known each other for over ten years and both grew up in the same part of Australia on the east coast. We’ve always kept in touch and thought it would be cool to create some hats together for our customers and his followers to enjoy.
Talk to us about the design process behind this launch. How did you land on the silhouettes and color scheme?
A lot of the pieces we created together were based on vintage items that we both loved, some items Jordan found while thrifting on his travels. We wanted to bring in a modern twist with a hint of nostalgia and of course Jordan’s great sense of personal style.
In terms of headwear, what kind of trends can style enthusiasts expect to see this spring and summer?
I think we will see buckets remain strong – the great thing about our On the Rocks suede bucket is that it’s such a transeasonal style and really versatile. I also think we’ll see the return of unique straw pieces and super wide brims – as well as caps for an easy-to-wear, throw on anytime look.
