Miu Miu's Mini Skirts Aren't Going Anywhere
The brand’s FW22 collection puts legs on full display.
The infamous Miuccia Prada micro mini-skirt has a chokehold on the fashion world and it appears the itty-bitty style isn’t going anywhere as Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection presents the early aughts style in multiple forms, arriving in skirts and shorts.
Grounded in the three primary colors, red, yellow and blue, the Italian luxury label pairs the bite-sized garments with sleek belts, sometimes doubling up on the practical accessory for an edgy look. White tennis-like micro-minis are complimented by buttery suede camel bomber jackets and dance-inspired leg warmers and precious ballet flats. Ephemeral strips of satin fabric were tied around models’ necks for an added touch of femininity, accenting loose button-down blouses with see-through front panels for a subtle yet sensual aesthetic. Elsewhere, dramatic leather trench coats, arriving in deep shades of cobalt blue and rich merlot elevated pastel argyle sweaters and houndstooth minuscule skirts.
