Kehlani's 'blue water road' Album Is a Commitment to Self-Love
The artist’s latest project features collaborations with Justin Bieber, Jessie Reyez and more.
Following their last full-length effort, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t, in 2020, Kehlani is back with a new album called blue water road.
Named after the coastal strip in Malibu of the same name, the latest record features 13 tracks that explore the singer’s journey of self-love. Kehlani also enlisted a few artists to collaborate with such as Justin Bieber on “up at night,” Jessie Reyez on “more than i should,” Blxst on “any given sunday,” Syd on “get me started,” and Thundercat and ambré on “wondering/wandering.”
Described as “a glasshouse… with the sun shining through it” by Kehlani, blue water road is a breath of fresh air after It Was Good Until It Wasn’t. Warm and soothing R&B beats take over the songs featuring their signature sensual vocals.
