If you’re a fan of the Hulu show, then you know Gomez’s character, Mabel, has only had one love interest so far — Oscar, AKA Tye Dye Guy. However, for Season 2, Delevingne’s character, Alice, who’s a newcomer, will be holding a special place in Mabel’s heart.
Alice is an art aficionado that seemingly lives in the same building as Mabel, Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short). According to Vanity Fair, Alice will put Mabel “in touch with a side of herself she’s been somewhat neglecting since the show began.”
“It’s a little sparky in all the right ways that makes you feel like, ‘Oh, someone’s opening someone’s world,’” the show’s producer, John Hoffman, told the outlet.
Gomez and Delevingne have been friends for a while, which according to the publication adds a “quick, sexy intimacy” to their on-screen chemistry. Hoffman added, “It was amazing to have the two of them know each other and feel comfortable.”
Of her friendship with Gomez, Delevingne previously told Elle, “Selena is a very special friend, and it’s been so fun to get to work with her for the first time. Well, actually, second time. She actually hired me when I had just become a model, and she had designed a clothing line. We have known each other a long time. And, of course, working with Steve Martin and Martin Short is like a master class in comedy. I feel so lucky to get the opportunity.”
Only Murders in the Building premieres on Hulu on June 28.
