Korean Footballer Son Heung-min Is Burberry's Newest Ambassador
Son was the first Asian player to co-win the Golden Boot award.
London-based football player Son Heung-min has been announced as Burberry‘s latest ambassador, through a series of exclusive portraits captured for the house.
Son made history as the first-ever Asian player to co-win the 2021/2022 Golden Boot award, an annual honor presented to the leading goal scorer in the Premier League, making him the perfect addition to the Burberry family. Reflecting Burberry’s commitment to pushing boundaries, the new partnership sees the Tottenham Hotspur player joining the likes of existing ambassadors Cha Eun Woo and Marcus Rashford.
“I’m happy to be the new ambassador for Burberry. Being an athlete from the British Premier League, it’s my honor to partner with a brand so rich in British heritage. I love Burberry’s strive for imagination and innovation which has been deeply inherited in its history, which are values that I champion. I’m very excited for our newfound journey that we will together develop,” Son shared in a press release.
To celebrate the new ambassadorship, Son was shot exclusively for Burberry wearing some of the brand’s most iconic pieces, including an archive Burberry Check Nylon Hooded Jacket, Arthur Sneakers and Cable-Knit Wool Blend Sweater from the Pre-Fall/Winter 2022 collection.
