Central Cee Makes His Catwalk Debut at Burberry SS27
With a star-studded front row of guests including Jorja Smith, Skepta and Jonathan Bailey.
Daniel Lee presented his Summer 2027 collection for Burberry during London Fashion Week, transporting guests to the Chelsea College of Arts in South West London. As with all Burberry show locations, the venue subtly hinted at what was to come: a collection celebrating British textile artist Celia Birtwell. Her era-defining prints of the ’60s and ’70s served as this season’s inspiration, transforming Burberry’s signature silhouettes into joyful canvases of artistic expression.
According to Lee, this season was the House’s most “soulful,” offering a “return to the basis of things.” For the audience, though, it felt like Summer 2027 was way beyond the base. Reimagining the classic Burberry check as subtle stripes and gingham prints, the collection featured sunny yellows, floral prints, and drawings, embellishing trench coats and tailoring.
“Nothing is overly pressed or pristine,” Lee added in the collection’s press release, stating, “There’s an intentional imperfection: the idea of owning a piece, living in it. You can really feel the human hand in it. In the check, in the lines.”

In keeping with that theme, this season saw British rapper Central Cee make his runway debut, offering what felt like a perfect blend of old and new Burberry. Tradition, with a hint of heart. An evolution of his relationship with the brand, which has previously seen the artist attending its LFW shows and starring in campaigns, the poignant moment was underscored by the front row attendees, which included more influential British artists like Jorja Smith, Skepta and Kano.
This season’s soundtrack complemented the ongoing intention of warmth, human touch and creativity, blending four decades of David Bowie music.
