Kim Shui and Afterpay Host Virtual Casting for NYFW
The designer is also crowdsourcing a custom print.
Designer Kim Shui has partnered with Afterpay to host a virtual casting for a model, photographer and stylist for New York Fashion Week. Opening up the doors of a traditionally opaque and sometimes elitist industry, Shui’s search for creative talent online only further diversifies the fashion world.
In addition to a virtual casting, the designer for It-girls everywhere will be crowdsourcing images to create a custom print for one of her pieces. Tapping into the power of the metaverse and the digital realm, Shui is allowing lovers of her brand’s aesthetic to have a hand in creating a garment that will be worn down the runway this fall. Those who submit a pixel will also have access to a free NFT of the artwork.
The deadline for both the virtual casting and pixel submission is 11:59 pm EST on August 12. The application for casting can be found on Kim Shui x Afterpay’s website, while the platform for the custom print lives here. See Kim Shui’s casting call below.
