'Squid Game' Director Might Ask Leonardo DiCaprio to Join Season 3 Cast
The actor is known to be a huge fan of the hit Korean series.
Squid Game director Hwang Dong-hyuk is reportedly considering asking Leonardo DiCaprio to join the show’s cast for upcoming seasons.
In a recent press conference in Seoul, Hwang shared that the second season of the hit K-drama series will not feature any major Hollywood actors as the story, so far, is still set in South Korea. He said at the event, “That’s not in the plan and if the stage changes, maybe in Season 3 — but for Season 2, it is still set in Korea. Leonardo DiCaprio did say he’s a big fan of Squid Game, so maybe if time or chances allow, we can ask him to join the games.” He also added that the second season, confirmed earlier this year, will begin production in 2023 and premiere in 2024.
DiCaprio has yet to respond to Hwang’s comment. However, the star has openly shared that he is a big fan of Squid Game.
