Kristen McMenamy Is Done With Valentino's Shoes
And we can’t say we blame her.
Long-term model Kristen McMenamy was recently seen tripping on the runway whilst walking for Valentino during its Spring 2023 Paris Couture Week Show.
After her fall, McMenamy took the shoes off and proceeded to throw them down the runway, likely in protest of her discomfort, and the audience was here for it. It’s not the first time we’ve seen a model stumble due to impossible footwear though, you only have to look as far as Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood’s Paris Fashion Week showcase last season, but McMenamy’s response proves that the treatment of models on the runway has got to change.
It’s hard to tell whether or not this will be the straw that broke the fashion camel’s back, but hopefully it’ll spark at least some consideration among luxury houses who need to take this more seriously.
