And open up about the rigorous training system that helped them to form the band.
BLACKPINK joined James Corden on a recent episode of Carpool Karaoke, recreating their biggest hits and opening up about their journey to becoming one of the world’s biggest K-pop bands.
Speaking about the rigorous training system that led them to form the group, the girls discussed how they were in the programme for about five to six years, learning languages, music and different genres of dance. Corden was then given a brief krumping tutorial by BLACKPINK’s resident krumper, Jisoo.
Opening up about their intense schedule, the group explained how they used to start training around 11 am and practice all the way until 2 am, even on weekends. They also shared that during training they’d only get one day off every fortnight on a Sunday. Rose also discussed the fact that she left Australia at 16 to move to Korea, while Lisa was just 14 when she moved.
Performing a number of their best-selling singles including “Pink Venom,” “DDU DU DDU DU” and “How You Like That,” the girls also treated fans (and Corden) to a few iconic girl band covers, like “No Scrubs” by TLC and “Wannabe” by Spice Girls.
