FENDI Unveils Highly-Anticipated Marc Jacobs Capsule Collection
Putting a contemporary spin on the label’s iconic Baguette bag.
Following FENDI’s Resort 2023 presentation during New York Fashion Week last September, which paid tribute to the 25th anniversary of its beloved Baguette bag, fashion enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating the label’s new collection by Marc Jacobs. First teased during the theatrical showcase, the collection is now available, and it certainly does not disappoint.
Continuing to pay homage to both the iconic Baguette bag and the city that played a pivotal role in its pop culture history, largely thanks to Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City, the American designer combines contemporary motifs with turn-of-the-century silhouettes for this latest range. The Spring/Summer 2023 collection is full of daring fluoro yellow hues, contrasting against a silver, grey, black and white palette with utilitarian silhouettes and accessories.
The spotlight is on the signature FENDI Roma logo, reinterpreted by Marc Jacobs and realized in close, sinuous, semi-transparent knits, as well as a bold print in more casual attire. Adding a tongue-in-cheek detail is the Baguette pocket, enlivening a hooded sweatshirt and a neon yellow t-shirt. From denim coordinates to structured corsets, the FENDI craftsmanship is never compromised.
Of course, the collection’s main focus is the Baguette bags, ranging from Maxi to Phone Baguette, all the way down to the Nano. However, there are also plenty of accessories to covet, including jewelry, hats, sunglasses and shoes.
