Nike Swim's SS25 Collection Will Have You Ready to Set Sail

Inspired by the brand’s nautical roots, which actually date back to 1987.

Spring is in full bloom, which means summer is just around the corner. If you’re on the lookout for swimwear that blends sport, style and a splash of history, Nike Swim‘s Spring/Summer 2025 collection has you covered.

While Nike is best known for dominating the worlds of running, basketball and just about every other sport, its connection to the high seas might come as a surprise. Back in 1987, the brand stepped into the world of sailing as part of the America’s Cup (an international sailing competition,) led by one of the label’s earliest employees Geoff Hollister, who helped introduce the Swoosh to the sailing scene. Now, nearly 40 years later, the brand nods to its sailing history with a new collection.

At the heart of the SS25 capsule are nautical-inspired designs infused with performance-ready details. One highlight from the collection is the tie-string bikini set — a bikini top and bottom adorned with the Kookaburra III, the yacht that raced in the 1987 sailing race. The print adds a touch of heritage, while the adjustable fit ensures you’re as comfortable lounging on the sand as you are taking a dip in the waves.

“As a collection, we’re thrilled to have the honor of reliving Nike’s history in sailing through these new designs. We’ve connected to the past with the brand’s America’s Cup sailboat print from 1987. We believe this digitally printed collection embodies water, wind, movement and sport,” shares Nike Swim’s design team in a press release.

Nike Swim’s SS25 collection is available for purchase on the brand’s official website. Click the gallery to get a glimpse of the pieces.
