As May flowers bloom, the Scorpio full moon brings intense emotions to the surface. In a new interview, Iva Naskova of the Nebula spiritual guidance platform shares everything you need to know in preparation for the event.

If you’re new to the world of astrology, full moons occur when the moon appears fully illuminated from the Earth. On Monday, May 12, the event will take place in the sign of Scorpio, illuminating everything beneath the surface.

“Think of it like pulling off a bandage: it may hurt at the moment, but it will hurt only once and afterward, you’ll be free to move on – healed, stronger and unshaken.”

“It’s a time of awakening and renewal,” Naskova shared. “But it’s not just the world around us that blooms under this full moon. We blossom within, stepping into our true potential, embracing transformation and reconnecting with our deepest desires.”

As the full moon brings you into the deep end of your emotions, be sure to listen, as it will provide valuable information. “Scorpio is a deeply emotional water sign, and it gives this full moon an intense energy. It pushes us to become more self-aware and recognize what needs to be cut out of our lives so we can start fresh. Under this moon, we might hit some bumps in the road and realize that things simply cannot continue the way they are. We must act if we want to achieve what our hearts truly crave.”

What can we expect to change in our lives during this full moon?

Emotions are heightened because of the water element, but so is intuition. Scorpios are one of the most intuitive signs, so make sure you check in with yourself and listen to your inner voice. The Flower Moon symbolizes growth and expansion, and with Scorpio’s influence, that growth becomes deeper as it faces shadows we’ve been avoiding. Think of it like pulling off a bandage: it may hurt at the moment, but it will hurt only once, and afterward, you’ll be free to move on – healed, stronger, and unshaken.

With Pluto, Scorpio’s ruling planet, going retrograde on May 4 and Mercury moving into Taurus on May 10, this full moon also brings a strong urge to break outdated patterns. You’ll find yourself thinking, speaking and acting with more logic, thanks to Taurus’ influence. But Pluto will likely push you to rebel against anything that holds you back. You might feel your mind and heart at odds, but this tension is exactly what fuels deep, lasting transformation.

What are your best tips for navigating this astrological event?

Scorpios don’t do anything halfway – so don’t be afraid to dive deep into your feelings. Ask yourself how you feel and why. The shadow work you do now can be life-changing, helping you gain closure and release what causes pain, disappointment and setbacks.

At the same time, Scorpios’ energy is strongly tied to personal boundaries and emotional protection. Learn to create safe, private spaces for yourself, and don’t feel guilty for guarding them. Remember: people who truly love and respect you will honor your boundaries – those who don’t are not meant to stay. Let them go without fear.

Lastly, the Flower Moon brings a powerful surge of creative energy. Use it. Dive into creative projects that can help you boost your professional growth while healing and rejuvenating your spirit. Through creative expression, you can channel negative emotions, stress, anxiety and tension into something beautiful and empowering.
