Jonathan Anderson Debuted His Dior Cruise 2027 Show
Going full Hollywood glam.
Dior brought a high-fashion fever dream to Los Angeles, debuting Jonathan Anderson’s hotly anticipated Cruise 2027 collection under the glittering lights of Hollywood. Set against the strong architecture of the newly opened David Geffen Galleries, the show was the ultimate crossover, with a heavy pour of American glamor mixed with the soul of French savoir-faire.
The runway opened with ethereal, drop-hem dresses in semi-sheer fabrics, but Anderson quickly shifted gears. Tailoring and slip dresses were reimagined with a rebellious streak, think raw, undone hems, gathered textures and oversized silhouettes that redefine the French effortless chic. Ripped denim and relaxed robe coats offered a grounded contrast to the more fluid evening wear, all punctuated by the designer’s love for electric, playful hues.
Nostalgia also had its moment, specifically with a newspaper-print baguette bag that whispered to the John Galliano era. But it wouldn’t be an Anderson production without a touch of the surreal; models sported headpieces featuring phrases like “Dior,” “star” and “buzz,” standing tall like chic antennae. With a retro convertible as the centerpiece and a front row featuring Jisoo, Miley Cyrus and Anya Taylor-Joy, the night felt less like a runway and more like a Hollywood movie set.
