Athleta Goes En Pointe With the San Francisco Ballet

The newest pas de deux in the Bay Area.

Athleta is officially stepping into the world of elite dance. The San Francisco-founded activewear giant has joined forces with the San Francisco Ballet, stepping up as the company’s Official Athletic Apparel Partner to merge high-performance design with classical artistry.

The partnership kicks off with a new social campaign spotlighting San Francisco Ballet principal dancers Madeline Woo and Nikisha Fogo. Decked out in Athleta’s technical performance wear, the pair demonstrate the raw power, athletic strength and precision behind the art form.

Beyond campaign visuals, the Bay Area partnership centers heavily on local community impact. Athleta is lending its support to SF Ballet’s Swanson Community Scholarship Fund, providing roughly 100 local elementary school students with free, year-round training at the San Francisco Ballet School. The initiative extends through the Dance in Schools and Communities program, which currently reaches 2,500 students annually across the San Francisco Unified School District.

To open up access even further, the duo will host free quarterly dance workshops for women and girls in the Bay Area, with the inaugural session launching this September.

“Movement is more than physical; it has the power to shape lives and move communities forward.” said Athleta CEO Maggie Gauger in a press release. SF Ballet Artistic Director Tamara Rojo echoed the sentiment, noting the collaboration brings “the art of dance into the heart of our local community.”

In other news, NikeSKIMS launched its new studio edit.
