Riot Games Reveals Louis Vuitton Trophy Case Ahead of ‘League of Legends’ World Championship
The luxury house will also dress virtual pop group K/DA for the event taking place in Shanghai.
As a continuation of last year’s partnership, Riot Games‘ League of Legends and Louis Vuitton have teamed up once again to create the ultimate luxury trophy travel case, ahead of the final Worlds match scheduled to take place in Shanghai. The Summoner’s Cup and trunk designed by Nicolas Ghesquière will be on display during the game.
“The Summoner’s Cup has become a global icon symbolizing the mastery of the pro players who hoist it and the passion of millions of fans who have fueled LoL Esports for the last decade,” Riot’s Head of Global Esports Partnerships Naz Aletaha shares in a press release. “Louis Vuitton has a tradition of honoring the most prestigious trophies in the world of sports, and we are honored that the Summoner’s Cup is no exception.”
The case is adorned with LV’s iconic monogram pattern on the exterior, while the silver trophy cup is highlighted with hints of blue. In addition to the Summoner’s Cup, the luxury house will be dressing Riot’s virtual pop group K/DA and their collaborator Lexie Liu for the Worlds 2020 Opening Ceremony, where they will perform.
The 2020 Worlds final match takes place on October 31 at 6 p.m. CST (6 a.m. EST). See the trailer for the ceremony below.
