Kerry Washington Teams Up With Sustainable Jewelry Brand Aurate on Lioness-Inspired Collection
The actor has also signed on as an Aurate investor.
Award-winning actor Kerry Washington ventures into design with her latest project, a capsule collection of jewelry created in collaboration with Aurate. Based in New York City, Aurate is a sustainable, direct-to-consumer brand that crafts its wares using 100 percent recycled gold and ethically-sourced diamonds.
To announce her decision to sign on as an Aurate investor, Washington designed a capsule of sleek jewelry centering on the symbol of the lioness, an emblem of power. A gold lion head pendant hangs from small hoop earrings, a dual-chain bracelet and necklace. The pendant can also be purchased separately — twenty percent of proceeds from all sales of the pendant go to women’s activism group Supermajority.
