BTS' New Music Video For "ON" Is the K-Pop Group's Most Cinematic Yet

Following BTS‘ release of a performance video for “ON,” the lead single off their new album MAP OF THE SOUL : 7, the K-pop group has unveiled an official music video for the track. The visual is a cinematic take on the song’s lyrics, which touch on fate and perseverance.

An opening shot of a battlefield introduces the video’s overarching wartime theme. Dressed in historical garb, band members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook are placed in a variety of settings, some hinting at biblical stories — for example, one scene depicts elephants, giraffes and zebras in front of a boat reminiscent of Noah’s Ark. The nearly six-minute-long visual includes an elaborate dance routine, set amidst bonfires, as an interlude.
