Marc Jacobs Emphasizes Simplicity and Timelessness For His NYFW FW20 Show
Miley Cyrus makes a surprise appearance on the runway.
Marc Jacobs‘ Fall/Winter 2020 show ended New York Fashion Week with a bang featuring familiar faces on the runway including Kaia Gerber, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, BFA’s Model of the Year Adut Akech and even a surprise appearance from Miley Cyrus. The actress and singer was a natural on the runway and sported a black crop top with matching pants, paired with black leather gloves.
According to the show notes, Jacobs’ new collection was inspired by his “heroes of past and present in the style of various stages, ages and times.” The range emphasized restraint, quality of fabrics and proportion, “valuing simplicity and timelessness without forgoing the celebration of individuality, variety, and character.” A diverse range of colors appeared on the runway spanning from pops of ruby red and royal yellow, as well as neutral tones. Silhouettes included elegant gowns, feminine dresses and sleek suits arriving in different textures and fabrics.
