Dream job.
As the coronavirus pandemic forces people around the world to spend more time at home, the prospect of becoming a video game tester seems more timely than ever. Quarantine has led to increased gaming rates and record sales, and companies are looking to profit off of everyone’s new favorite indoor activity.
Hong Kong-based esports firm Cyber Games Arena (CGA) is hiring avid gamers to play hit Nintendo Switch title Animal Crossing: New Horizons. According to reports, the part-time role requires one to design and build specific Animal Crossing islands within a timeframe of one month. CGA will supply one lucky hire with a Nintendo Switch console. Though the job is part-time and pays a starting salary of $13,000 HKD (approximately $1,677 USD), the now-closed application specified the opportunity to extend the contract or transition to a full-time position.
