Keyboard on Latest Apple iOS Update Autosuggests Raised Fist Emojis for "Black Lives Matter"

Showing solidarity in the fight for racial justice.

With the beta version of Apple’s iOS 14 update now available for the public to try, users have noticed that the new keyboard on both iOS 13.6 and 14 autosuggests raised fist Emojis when the user types phrases like “Black Lives Matter.” The addition was first pointed out by a user on Reddit.

Raised fists have become a symbol of solidarity in the fight for racial justice, as seen in ongoing protests in the United States. According to an analysis by Emojipedia, the fist Emoji in all of its six available shades were some of the most used along with hashtags related to the movement. Just by typing “Black Lives Matter” or “BLM,” users can easily enter these icons without having to navigate through the keyboard.

You can try the latest addition for yourself on iOS 13.6 or 14.

In case you missed it, Apple has also added a face mask option for Memoji.
