Jil Sander Emphasizes Utility Through Minimal Looks for Resort 2021

Luke and Lucie Meier’s latest range proves that their goal is to create things that last.

Following a fringe and floral-filled collection presented back in February, husband-and-wife duo Lucie and Luke Meier are now highlighting utility, simplicity and minimalism for Jil Sander‘s Resort 2021 collection. Showcased at the label’s showroom in Milan, the latest range is captured in a series of raw and natural, yet polished images lensed by Tim Elkaïm.

This season is a further development of the Meiers’ interpretation of the Jil Sander aesthetic and mission to design items that last. Each piece in the collection is carefully constructed with the use of natural fibers, such as Japanese and Italian wool, cashmere, cotton, linen and silk arriving in diverse densities to complete the perfect silhouette.

A soft color palette of white, black, blue, grey, yellow, orange and brown are splashed throughout on pieces like a matching pantsuit and asymmetrical skirt. Craftsmanship is further highlighted through the use of details in each design, such as a military jacket cinched at the waist, a bomber jacket, a black cape and more. The looks are rounded off with simple yet statement-making footwear, including a pair of chunky black sandals with VELCRO® straps and ankle boots, as well as large shoulder bags.
