Bring the Spring Cherry Blossom Festival Home With This Pink Sakura Curry

Adding onto the country’s list of many mindblowing dishes, a new curry packet has launched in the Japanese market. Celebrating the upcoming cherry blossom season, the ready-to-eat meal boasts a pastel pink hue reminiscent of sakura flower petals.
Although the dish may not seem so appetizing at first glance, the “Haru Mankai Sakura Curry” is comprised of a delectable blend of ingredients. The “moderately spicy” instant packet is made using a white roux mixed with coconut milk, which is accentuated with actual flower petals. The sauce also features chopped potato and carrot.
If you’re looking to further elevate your meal, you can add any ingredient of your choice such as onion, chicken, beef and more. The vacuumed pouch can be prepared by being heated in a pot of water for five minutes, or with its contents being microwaved for two minutes.
A seven-ounce packet of the “Haru Mankai Sakura Curry” retails for ¥594 JPY (approximately $6 USD) online.
