Ella Emhoff Launches a Knitwear Collection That Sells Out in Minutes
In case you didn’t know, the second daughter is a textiles student at Parsons School of Design.
Ella Emhoff, Kamala Harris‘ stepdaughter who took headlines with her inauguration look, is a hot topic this New York Fashion Week. After signing with IMG Models, the rising star made her runway debut at Proenza Schouler‘s Fall/Winter 2021 show and also launched a limited knitwear collection that sold out in minutes.
As reported by The New York Times, the second daughter, who is currently a senior studying textiles at Parsons School of Design in New York, released her first-ever handmade garments to the public. The model took to Mall, a platform for emerging designers, to showcase five handknitted pieces including two sweater vests, a Tweety handbag, sleeveless dress and shorts. Only one of each design was made. Upon their release, three of the five items were sold out in 30 minutes.
Prior to dropping her creations, Emhoff had already been sharing her handknitted works on social media. From checkerboard bucket hats and bra tops to cropped tanks, the creative works with fun, vibrant patterns and color palettes. Recently, she also hosted an online raffle for her striped knit pants.
Although Emhoff’s very-limited knitwear collection is sold out as of now, we’re excited to see more projects from the 21-year-old.
