'Bridgerton' Unveils First Official Teaser For Season 2

Get ready for corgis and romance.

UPDATE (February 15, 2022): Netflix has unveiled the official teaser for the second season of Bridgerton.

The visual begins with a narration by Lady Whistledown, the town’s anonymous gossip columnist played by Nicola Coughlan. “Dearest gentle reader,” Jule Andrews’ voice resonates in the background — “Did you miss me?”

The preview surrounds the fiery love story between Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma, played by Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley, respectively. As their romance gets convoluted, so does the court’s ever-growing desire to unmask Lady Whistledown’s identity. Andrews narrates: “As the members of our town questioned my identity and means, this author has been doing but one thing — honing my skills.” She continues: “No, even better. I’ve been sharpening my knives.”

Shonda Rhimes serves as the executive producer for the series alongside Betsy Beers and Chris Van Dusen — the latter is also Bridgerton‘s creator and showrunner.

Take a look at the official teaser above. Bridgerton Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on March 25.

ORIGINAL STORY (January 20, 2022): Netflix’s beloved Regency England drama Bridgerton is about to return with its long-awaited second season. Based on the sophomore novel in Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series, The Viscount Who Loved Me, the popular TV romance focuses on the love life of Viscount Anthony Bridgerton. Daphne, who is played by Phoebe Dynevor, is now wed and able to help her brother find a suitor.

While Daphne’s former love interest, the handsome Duke of Hastings won’t be returning for the show’s second installment, the new season will feature a slew of new faces, perfect for Lady Whistledown’s salacious letters.

The official synopsis for the upcoming season reads:

“Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India. When Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions — a true love match is not high on his priority list — and decides to do everything in her power to stop the union. But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal sparring matches only bring them closer together, complicating matters on both sides. Across Grosvenor Square, the Featheringtons must welcome the newest heir to their estate while Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) continues to navigate the ton whilst keeping her deepest secret from the people closest to her.”
