UPDATE (December 23, 2022): Bad Bunny has returned to trap in his latest single, “Gato de Noche,” a collab with Ñengo Flow.

The “Tití Me Preguntó” artist had been teasing the collaboration for a few days, revealing that dropping the single was his way to “close the year.” Bad Bunny previously took to social media to share snippets of the song, exciting fans over the trap sound, which is reminiscent of his earlier music.

In addition to dropping the single, Bad Bunny and Ñengo Flow also released a music video.

UPDATE (December 22, 2022): After sharing a snippet of an upcoming song, Bad Bunny took to social media to unveil more info about the highly anticipated track titled “Gato de Noche,” which translates to “Cat of the Night.”

“Gato de Noche” is a collab with another Puerto Rican artist: Ñengo Flow. Bad Bunny shared another preview of the single on TikTok and while it’s mostly reggaeton-based, there are some hints of trap, taking it back to his earlier sound.

Prior to unveiling the song title, Bad Bunny had revealed that the track was meant to “close the year,” implying it would drop before the end of 2022. Now, he’s shared that he intends to release the song on Thursday, December 22 at 9 p.m. in Puerto Rico time, which is 8 p.m. EST.

ORIGINAL STORY (December 21, 2022): Bad Bunny is getting ready to release a hot new single. The Puerto Rican artist shared a snippet of an upcoming track, which he could be releasing before the end of 2022.

“This is to close the year,” he said while previewing the track in a TikTok video. Based on the snippet, the forthcoming single gives off a similar vibe to his song “Efecto” from his latest album, Un Verano Sin Ti, with a hint of trap, paying homage to his earlier music.

While it remains unclear when the new track is dropping, Bad Bunny recently revealed he plans to take it easy in 2023. However, that doesn’t mean he’s given up on recording new music in the new year. “I’m taking a break,” he told Billboard. “2023 is for me, for my physical health, my emotional health to breathe, enjoy my achievements. We’re going to celebrate. Let’s go here, let’s go there, let’s go on the boat. I have a couple of sporadic commitments, and I’ll go to the studio, but there’s no pressure. Remember yourself, cabrón. You’ve worked your ass off.”
