Copenhagen Fashion Week Announces Brand Lineup for FW23

With all participants required to fulfill at least 18 sustainability-focused standards.

Copenhagen Fashion Week announced in early 2020 that it would implement changes by requiring participating brands to follow a select number of sustainability-focused guidelines in an effort to reduce the fashion industry’s impact on the environment. As promised, the show’s committee will be kicking off the new year with brands having to follow 18 Minimum Standards for the upcoming Fall/Winter 2023 season.

Scheduled to take place from January 31 to February 3, 2023, the week-long event will only feature brands that have been screened by CPHFW, with requirements categorized into six areas: Strategic Direction, Smart Material Choices, Working Conditions, Consumer Engagement and Show. To further help with building a sustainable future in fashion, brands are given access to relevant organizations in helping them meet the 18 requirements.

CPHFW’s CEO Cecilie Thorsmark shared in a press release, “Three years ago, we announced that Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2023 would introduce mandatory Minimum Standards for brands to comply with in order to be admitted to the show schedule. We simply wished to rethink our platform and use our position to contribute to accelerating the sustainability efforts of the fashion brands that make up CPHFW.”

Participating brands this upcoming season include CPHFW veterans like GANNI, ROTATE, (di)vision and Wood Wood. Up-and-coming names on the roster include OpéraSPORT as well as A. Roege Hove, Latimmier and P.L.N., which are the three emerging brands joining CPHFW’s NEWTALENT scheme.
