How and Why Kim Kardashian Protects Ye For the Sake of Their Children
Their children don’t know about the rapper’s antics.
Kim Kardashian got candid about her relationship with ex Ye aka Kanye West during a new interview for Angie Martinez’s In Real Life podcast.
Kardashians spoke about how difficult it is to co-parent with the rapper, whom she shares North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm West, with. One of the most interesting revelations Kardashian made during the interview is that she’s shielded the children from learning about their dad’s erratic behavior.
“If they don’t know the things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them?” Kardashian said. “That’s really heavy grown-up sh*t that they’re not ready to deal with.”
“One day my kids will thank me for sitting here and not bashing their dad when I could,” she said. “They’ll thank me and I’ll privately answer anything that they want to know. It’s not my place anymore to jump in.”
Despite having a complicated relationship with Ye, Kardashian revealed she protects him for the sake of the kids.
“I definitely protected him and I still will,” the SKIMS founder added. “In the eyes of my kids, for my kids. So in my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on — on the outside world. And I’ve managed to do that. I’m holding on by a thread — I know I’m like so close to that not happening.”
She continued, “But while it’s still that way, I will protect that to the end of the earth as long as I can.”
The reality star added, “But if we’re riding to school and they want to listen to their dad’s music, no matter what we’re going through, no matter what is happening in the world, like I have to have that you know smile on my face and blast his music and sing along with my kids and act like nothing’s wrong.”
She said, “As soon as I drop them off, I can have a good cry or you know, text back and do what I got to do.”
