Coachella To Sell 10 Lifetime Festival Guest Passes as NFTs
Owners will receive annual tickets to the festival and exclusive perks.
For the first time ever, Coachella is selling 10 tradeable lifetime passes. However, in order to obtain them, you must buy an NFT, AKA a non-fungible token.
“Owners will receive passes to the festival every April and access to Coachella-produced virtual experiences forever,” reads a press release. The collaboration is in partnership with FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange company.
“We’ve all seen how NFTs enable true ownership of art and media on the internet,” Coachella’s Innovation Lead, Sam Schoonover, said in a statement. “We wanted to take it one step further and use NFTs to enable ownership of experiences in the real world, too.”
For this year‘s festival, NFT buyers will receive exclusive perks, such as VIP on-site experiences like a celebrity chef dinner and front row views of the stage.
Those interested in purchasing the NFTs, can do so by signing up for FTX. They can be purchased with any currency rather than having to set up a wallet, swap tokens and purchase with ETH.
