The Most Popular Footwear at New York Fashion Week SS23

From slides to sneaker-heels.

With New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2023 coming to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back at the best footwear moments this past week. While eyes may be on the runway, it was the streetwear that caught our attention. Leave it to New York to step out with some of the most highly-coveted sandals, sneakers, heels and hybrids.

A few of our favorites included the white Nike x COMME des GARÇONS heel, alongside the Melissa Puff x Collina Strada sandal. Other statement-making shoes included the rainbow-colored Salomon XT 4T PU sneakers as well as the easy-going Balenciaga Crocs Pool Slides.

Continue scrolling to take a look at the hottest shoes on display during NYFW and be sure to check out the best streetwear from the season.

YEEZYadidas 700 Inertia Sneaker

While Ye may be terminating his partnership with GAP, things with adidas are still going strong — for now. The adidas x Yeezy 700 Inertia sneaker features an overall tonal gray appearance and boasts a welcome pop of color in the form an eye-catching orange on the sides. The gripped bottom expertly marries form with function as these sneakers were undoubtedly pounding the pavement from show to show.

WHERE TO COP: Available at StockX for $375 USD.

Balenciaga x Crocs Pool Slides

Arriving in an electric bright green shade, this Fashion Week blended comfort with style, wearing the Balenciaga Crocs Pool Slides. The chunky shoe is a result of the luxury brand’s unlikely, yet viral collaboration with Crocs and bears an 5mm arch for aquatic activities, although there is not too much swimming to be done in the concrete jungle.

WHERE TO COP: Available for $565 USD at Balenciaga.

Jaden Smith x Vision Racer “Wavy Baby Blue”

New Balance collaborates with Jaden Smith for an absolutely architectural sneaker. Coated in a beautiful baby blue, the Jaden Smith x Vision Racer ‘Wavy Baby Blue’ sneaker’s upper is crafted from 60 percent recycled polyester and is made complete with a thick platform on its sole.

WHERE TO COP: Available for $250 USD at Fight Club.

Melissa x Collina Strada Puff Sandal

Jelly slides — move over. Melissa x Collina Strada’s Y2K-esque Puff Sandals are the perfect sartorial addition to any streetwear fit. As if they were plucked out of a dreamcore mood board, the Puff Sandals’s swirled and textural boasts a psychedelic aesthetic.

WHERE TO COP: Available for $180 USD at Melissa.

COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Premier

COMME des GARÇONS x Nike’s Premier heels have to be our absolute favorite as the collaboration not only brings two iconic brands together, but the result is an avant-garde sneaker-heel that takes fashion to new heights. Nike’s signature swoop mimics the shape of the shoe’s sculptural kitten heel, offering an extra inch and a half of height.

WHERE TO COP: $620 USD at SSENSE.

Salomon XT-4 TPU-Trimmed Mesh Running Sneakers

This show-goer opted to wear the rainbow and don a pair of Salomon XT-4 TPU-Trimmed Mesh Running Sneakers. The uber-colorful shoes deliver sunshine in a wearable form as they feature a smile-inducing color palette. Looks aside, the sneakers are made to withstand the toughest terrains as the Mud Contagrip® ensures stability and support.

WHERE TO COP: $220 USD at Mr. Porter.
