After the model underwent heart surgery following a mini-stroke last year.
Hailey Bieber recently opened up about the effects of her recent surgery on her mental health.
The Rhode Beauty founder suffered a mini-stroke back in 2022, which led to her finding out that she had a hole in her heart and would require surgery. In a recent appearance on the Run-Through with Vogue podcast last week, Bieber spoke about suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of her health issues.
“I struggled with a lot of anxiety after. I struggled with a little bit of PTSD of just, like, the fear of maybe it was gonna happen again,” the model explained. “It was just a feeling that I was, like, I never want to experience that ever again. It was so terrifying, so jarring, so discombobulating in every single way that you could imagine.”
Bieber a;sp described the mini-stroke as “the scariest thing I’ve ever gone through,” adding that even being back in the area it took place (Palm Springs) was “very triggering” for her. “Even the first couple of times coming back here after was a little bit of a strange triggering kind of feeling for me because you just remember exactly how everything happened in that moment,” she added.
“I think the bright side for me is that it led me to find out I had this hole in my heart. I look back at it [now] and it could’ve been so much worse. So many worse things could have happened in that moment,” Bieber said. At the time, the model shared that, following the surgery, she was “really relieved I will be able to just move on from this really scary situation and live my life.”
In other Bieber news, Hailey was recently spotted wearing a “nepo baby” T-shirt.
