Mugler Announces First Live Runway Show in Three Years
Taking place during Paris Couture Week.
Mugler has been the subject of an unparalleled resurgence in the last few years and now, it appears that the bodacious brand is finally capitalizing on its newfound success.
Creative Director, Casey Cadwallader, re-shared an exclusive interview with WWD, announcing that the brand would “return to the Paris runway” on January 26 during Paris Couture Week. According to the publication, Mugler has scheduled its presentation for 8 pm at La Villette, which is set to follow a “see now, buy now” model featuring its Fall 2022/2023 collection.
The show is set to be a “new concept” for the brand, promising an “immersive experience across all channels, and in front of a live audience.” Managing director of Mugler, Pascal Conte-Jodra, also hinted that it’s “not a classical return to the runway.” Over lockdown, the brand released a number of fashion films, which, according to Conte-Jodra, helped Mugler to learn how to entertain, surprise, get attention and please its audience. The showcase is reported to feature winter elements and spring items alongside debuting new product categories.
News of the runway show marks the first live showcase in three years, with Mugler’s last runway that featured a live audience taking place back in February 2020.
