Louis Vuitton Enlists KidSuper to Co-Create FW23 Menswear Collection

Making Colm Dillane the House’s first-ever guest runway designer.

KidSuper is set to return to the Paris Fashion Week runway next week, but this time, through a collaborative collection with Louis Vuitton.

Set to be showcased on January 19, Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection was designed by the brand’s menswear studio, alongside “the participation of” Colm Dillane, according to Vogue Business. “Colm is embedded into the men’s studio,” the house explained, adding that the showcase is yet to feature an appearance from a “world-famous music star,” who has yet to be named.

The joint collection with Dillane suggests a continuation of the house’s dedication to nurturing talent, already showcased through Louis Vuitton’s last two seasons, following the death of Artistic Director, Virgil Abloh. As a result, the next phase marks the first-ever guest runway designer, with the potential for Dillane to replace Abloh in the future. It appears that the house has long been considering who could possibly succeed Abloh, ever since his sudden death in 2021, with names like Dillane and Martine Rose at the top of the list.

For Dillane, the relationship between him and Abloh and subsequently, Louis Vuitton, began years ago. In fact, Abloh was one of the judges who awarded the KidSuper founder the €150,000 Karl Lagerfeld Prize in 2021, and it appears that since then, the house has continued to develop its fruitful relationship with the buzzy designer.

Stay tuned for more details.
