Foo and Foo Dives Headfirst Into Nautical Grunge for FW23
It’s time to swear like a sailor.
Elizabeth Hilfiger taps into her upbringing for Foo and Foo‘s Fall/Winter 2023 collection, articulating her outsider status with references to New York and Nantucket.
Micro mini tartan skirts that would make Avril Lavigne proud sit unapologetically near practical puffer vests and crisp blue button down shirts. Hilfiger nods to her nautical childhood with haphazard stripes featuring the brand’s logo. Elsewhere, flashy rhinestone anchors rest front and center on black sweatsuits calling to mind adolescent vacations spent by the shore.
Foo and Foo doesn’t shy away from its inherently rebellious aesthetic, including cheeky prints in the form of muscled torsos on hoodies and graphics of jeans on jeans, alongside bikini babes on classic sleeveless tanks. Asymmetric electric orange skirts join matching cropped denim jackets, while an uber-saturated pink sweater adds an additional pop of color with its plunging lace front. Other standouts include a dizzying abstract print designed by Hilfiger is emphasized as a repeating pattern on off-the-shoulder dresses and skin-tight catsuits.
