Thom Browne's FW25 Show Brought Feathered Fantasy to the Forefront

Thom Browne herded the birds to New York City this Fall/Winter 2025 Fashion Week. In the brand’s usual suiting style, the designer set caged creatures free, blending classic tailoring with avian-inspired elements. Models walked the runway in structured tweed adorned with crystals and pom-poms.

Isamaya Ffrench and her team were in charge of the glam, so perfection was inevitable. They utilized Lashify’s LED Control Kit to apply the Isamaya x Lashify Edge x Gossamer Lashes, crafting delicate, bird-like feather effects. “The inspiration for the first look came from birds — we wanted to bring a magical story to life through makeup,” Ffrench said in a press statement. For a more spiky, academic-inspired style, they opted for the Cherry Black Gossamer Lashes.

Both styles were sealed in place with Lashify’s Bondage Extra Strength Bond. On the lip she drew a subtle mark created with lipstick and paint. “The subtle tie-print detail on the lips is a nod to Thom Browne’s visionary collection.”

On the hair, James Pecis went for two approaches, using products from his line Blu & Green. The hair for this show referenced origami birds and illustrations of birds from the National Audubon Society. “Most of what we do at Thom Browne is prepared before the show with supplies from art stores, hardware stores and specialty shops,” Pecis said in a press statement. “Thom Browne is theater, an art performance piece. It’s a fantasy created, but the looks can also be adapted to make sense in the real world.”

One group wore a curl offset on the forehead and others wore a flipped-up curl in the back that mimicked a duck’s tail. There are larger hair pieces that appear as abstract wings on a clean, polished, hair-wrapped head. “Thom requested the shapes be kept precise and clean so we made many of the pieces from hair that we shaped in a surreal and hyper-controlled way. These clean line shapes referenced the origami influence and bird inspiration.
