Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page To Star in 'Italianna'

Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page are set to star in the upcoming Universal Studios film, Italianna.
Bailey is most known for her iconic role as The Little Mermaid and being one half of the Beyoncé-approved sister-duo Chloe x Halle. If Page’s name isn’t ringing any bells, he first went viral after his role as Simon in Shonda Rhimes’ Bridgerton. Fans loved him so much that they created a fan page account… for his spoon. Sadly, Page did not return for Season 2, leaving fans in shambles, but has since starred in a few action films.
Emmy-award winning director Kat Coiro is set to direct the film for Universal Pictures. Given his popularity in Season 1 of Bridgerton, fans are eager to see Page as a love interest. But, “Plot details are being kept under wraps,” however, we do know that the script was written by Ryan Engle and “based on an original idea by Ryan Engle and Kristin Engle… Will Packer and Johanna Byer will produce the film through Will Packer Productions’ first look deal,” as well.
Coiro’s buzziest film with Universal was the 2022 romantic comedy Marry Me, which starred Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson. “Following that production, the two sides worked hard to find their next project together, landing on Italianna.”
The film industry is having a buzzy week with Zendaya joining the cast of A24’s Be My Baby, a biopic of ’60s music icon Ronnie Spector of the Ronnettes. She’s also set to star in Shrek 5, Dune 3, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and the highly anticipated Euphoria.
