Sinéad O'Dwyer Presents "Character Studies" for FW25
The latest lookbook marks the Irish designer’s final showcase under the BFC NEWGEN scheme.
Sinéad O’Dwyer is always one of the biggest highlights of London Fashion Week, and it’s for good reason. Renowned for her approach to inclusivity and designing for the female form, the Irish designer upholds a standard that most can only dream of. For her recent Fall/Winter 2025 collection, O’Dwyer presented her final showcase as part of the BFC NEWGEN scheme, paying tribute to the breadth of characters she’s created over the years.
Dubbed “Character Studies,” the collection celebrates those that inhabit O’Dwyer’s world, from unruly teenagers and impressive gymnasts to dungeon masters and dancers. Representing a newfound, more elevated territory for the designer, the collection favors supportive materials, expert cuts and matured silhouettes
A handprinted nude, shot by candlelight, acts as the key reference image for this season, found in an early issue of Visionaire Magazine. Translated into single-layered harness dresses and a criss-cross apron harness, the remaining collection features similar sultry details, characterized through new season fabrics like oxblood polished cowhide and elevated versions of O’Dwyer’s signature shibari knits.
A collaboration with grounds completes the collection, taking inspiration from traditional Irish dancing shoes. Resulting in calf-high and thigh-high boots, the footwear features grounds’ signature bubble sole, paired with a squiggle-knit sock and front-lacing technology.
