Vans' Latest Style 36 Sneakers Are Inspired by a Shiny '80s Cadillac
Created with pro surfer Alex Knost.
Last month, Vans introduced a summer collaboration with Opening Ceremony featuring neon Slip-Ons. This time around, the brand has partnered with pro surfer Alex Knost for a new iteration of its Style 36 silhouette.
Inspired by the colors and materials of Knost’s car, an ’80s Coupe deVille Cadillac, the shoe arrives in a glossy, burgundy vegan patent leather upper, which is complemented with a blue stripe. Tonal shoelaces match the colorway with bronze eyelets for an elevated look. The design is finished off with a timeless vulcanized sole and UltraCush insole for added comfort. This partnership is no surprise, as Knost has been part of the Vans family since 2005 and has been recognized for his eclectic style.
In addition to the Style 36, the collaboration also features a surf trunk and the Sk8-Hi shoe in a blue colorway. The Alex Knost x Vans collection is available to purchase now at Vans.com, with prices ranging from $67 USD to $72 USD.
