We’ve summed up last night’s show for you, so make sure to keep reading for all the insider info to CELINE’s Spring/Summer 2020 show, and watch the full catwalk in the video above.
Location
CELINE headed to Les Invalides in Paris, where the show took place in a set designed by Hedi Slimane himself. The runway was grey and simple, with a glittering backdrop that created depth and an eye-catching element to the otherwise traditional set-up. Rock music was playing throughout the show, emphasizing Slimane’s signature aesthetic.
Collection
This season Hedi Slimane took inspiration from 2000s fashion, debuting a bohemian range that was still largely influenced by his signature rock aesthetic. Putting a focus on denim and materials, we saw a wide range of jeans as well as skirts in classic denim blue hues, as well as casual blazers, shirts and tees to go with them. Additionally, Slimane also created printed dresses, headscarves and blouses that brought back the early ’00s nostalgia, and finished it off with statement knee-high boots. We aslo saw a handful of new accessories, ranging from bag silhouettes to aviator sunglasses, as well as jewelry and belts.
Beauty
Created by makeup artist Aaron De Mey, models paraded down the runway with bold kohl eyeliner and natural face makeup, once again staying true to Slimane’s vision. As for the hair, models wore their natural hairstyle with a messy and textured feel created by stylist Esther Langham.
Accessories
CELINE debuted new takes on its signature bag silhouettes, arriving in materials like snakeskin and leather. In addition to bags, big and bold sunglasses were in focus, with Aviator-style frames with dark lenses being a staple throughout the show. Going back to the 2000s inspiration, Slimane also created Bohemian-influenced headscarves as well as necklaces and jewelry, in particular the luxury lighter cases necklace that made an appearance on the runway.
Attendance
With CELINE being one of the biggest shows on the Paris Fashion Week schedule, celebrities in attendance included everyone from BLACKPINK‘s Lisa to actress Margaret Qualley and Luka Sabbat. The front row was also stacked with fashion’s elite, including Vogue‘s Anna Wintour and British Vogue‘s Edward Enninful.
