Swarovski Unveils 16 New Laboratory-Created Colored Diamonds
Presented during Paris Couture Week SS20.
Having launched its laboratory-created diamonds in 2018, Swarovski unveiled during Paris Couture Week Spring/Summer 2020 that it will be releasing 16 new exquisite Swarovski Created Diamond colorways. The stunning stones arrive in a sophisticated assortment of hues ranging from pink, blue, red and more. Markus Langes-Swarovski, member of the executive board, said in a press release:
“Swarovski is probably most known for our precision-cut crystals, but as a company, we are increasingly focused on exploring new materials and related technologies to offer our clients endless possibilities.”
“Swarovski Created Diamonds are the marriage of art and science, with a touch of magical realism. It’s also a true celebration of human ingenuity and creativity, which is what inspired us to build the color concept on four other man-made wonders: fashion, art, music and architecture.”
According to the Austrian jewelry company, the gems are 100 percent diamond, replicating the growth process of a mined diamond. Its composition possesses the same chemical composition, hardness, brilliance and fire. Inspired by the four pillars – fashion, art, music and architecture – the luxe colors represent each one of the creative communities in which Swarovski has always played a vital role in previous years.
Its hero colors – “Androgyny Flamingo” (fashion), “Cubist Sky” (art), “Heavy Metal Cherry” (music) and “Gothic Cognac” (architecture) – arrive in a whopping 2.5 carat size. The other colors – “Punk Lipstick,” “Surrealist Butter,” “Draped Fire” and “Electro Arctic” – range from 0.25 carats to 1.25 carats.
