Daniëlle Cathari Upcycles Her SS20 Collection Into Home Slippers
Available in chocolate brown and plum purple.
Last month, Daniëlle Cathari teamed up with adidas Originals on a “Power Berry” deconstructed tracksuit. For her latest project, the Dutch designer has unveiled new DC Home Slippers made from the deconstructed sweats from her Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
Cathari took to Instagram to reveal that her company was forced to buy back its own stock from wholesale due to the impact of COVID-19. “As we all know, fashion has a waste problem which results into deadstock getting destroyed and being destined for landfills, which we consider to be very unethical,” she said in her post. As part of DC’s upcycling initiative, Cathari and her team took matters into their own hands and decided to rework some of its leftover stock, starting with slippers. The cozy footwear style arrives in a chocolate brown hue and plum purple shade, which is embroidered with “Cathari” on the left pair.
Take a closer look at the offering in the gallery above. The pricing details and release date of the DC Home Slippers have not been disclosed yet, so stay tuned while we wait for more information to surface.
