Daniëlle Cathari Upcycles Her SS20 Collection Into Home Slippers
Available in chocolate brown and plum purple.
Last month, Daniëlle Cathari teamed up with adidas Originals on a “Power Berry” deconstructed tracksuit. For her latest project, the Dutch designer has unveiled new DC Home Slippers made from the deconstructed sweats from her Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
Cathari took to Instagram to reveal that her company was forced to buy back its own stock from wholesale due to the impact of COVID-19. “As we all know, fashion has a waste problem which results into deadstock getting destroyed and being destined for landfills, which we consider to be very unethical,” she said in her post. As part of DC’s upcycling initiative, Cathari and her team took matters into their own hands and decided to rework some of its leftover stock, starting with slippers. The cozy footwear style arrives in a chocolate brown hue and plum purple shade, which is embroidered with “Cathari” on the left pair.
Take a closer look at the offering in the gallery above. The pricing details and release date of the DC Home Slippers have not been disclosed yet, so stay tuned while we wait for more information to surface.

Due to Covid-19, we were forced to buy back our own stock from wholesale. Whilst this has a huge impact on us as a small company, taking back stock sets us back. As we all know, fashion has a waste problem which results into deadstock getting destroyed and being destined for landfills which we consider to be very unethical. We took matters into our own hands and started experimenting and coming up with ideas on what we could do with this leftover stock. As part of our DC Upcycling plan, we decided to rework the deconstructed sweats from last season. As a first try-out we created the DC Home Slippers made from the SS20 collection. More to come… ??
