Netflix Teases Heartwarming Coming-Out Documentary, 'A Secret Love'
A love story spanning more than 65 years.
With recent hits including true crime stories like Tiger King and Don’t F**k With Cats, Netflix will be returning this time with a heartwarming documentary covering a six decades-long love story of two women. Titled A Secret Love, the film shot from 2013 to 2018 documents Terry Donahue and Pat Henschel on how they secretly dated back in the ’40s when being queer was considered a crime that was deemed punishable by incarceration. “We had to be very careful. Those were the days when lesbian or gay bars were frequently raided, and they could be arrested and thrown in jail,” the trailer gives a glimpse of what dating as an LGBTQ couple would have been like back in the day. Although Terry unfortunately passed away in 2019 from Parkinson’s disease, her touching story with Pat shows that love is for all.
